Email Brain is your typical email marketing service. However, we encounter a few quirks while using the service that made it just a little more difficult to use.
You can build an email contact list by either manually entering your contacts or importing them from another file.
A unique feature included with Email Brain is the ability to sent text messages to your contacts.
Email Brain includes a “Basic” interface and “Enhanced” interface. The “Enhanced” interface is designed with more experienced users in mind; whereas, the “Basic” interface only includes the most basic tasks and functionally for novice users. The only way to navigate through the program is to select the options from the left side of the screen. The buttons are clearly labeled and easy to find.
Once you find the section of the program that you want to use, a top navigation bar pops up with more options that are specific to the category that you selected.
We would have like to see Email Brain include wizards or step by step guides to help new users become acquainted with the service.
Developing your email campaign through the "Newsletter" tab is fairly simple. Or, you can select the "Import HTML" option and either import it from a URL or a file on your desktop.
You can input the name of your email and select one of more than 100 professional looking templates. However, we became particularly frustrated after choosing a template from the list and the program never acknowledged one had been selected or where it went. First we clicked several templates, assuming it didn’t work, then we spent several moments searching through our account looking for the lost templates. Eventually, we found the several templates we selected just sitting in a drop down box in the Newsletter editor.
Email Brain has an editor so that you can format your email to include images, hyperlinks basic text formatting and more.
You can also incorporate flash files and Windows Media Video.
You can have Email Brain automatically include your unsubscribe footer in the settings option. However, you have to pay an additional fee to remove Email Brain’s “powered by” footer at the bottom of your campaigns.
Email Brain provides email information concerning how may emails have been sent, opened, forwarded, clicked through and unsubscribed. They also include forms and auto responses for your subscribers and integrates with Google Analytics.
However, this service does not have the ability to create surveys, compare reports, or track your email replies or your conversions.
We found that the customer service was friendly an efficient. All our live chat conversations were helpful and answered all our questions. However, we would like to see Email Brain include more additional resources like articles.
