JangoMail from Silicomm Corporation will help you to create a plain text and HTML email campaigns. This service has plenty of options to get you started, however, they could add a few reporting features and make their program a little more user friendly.
Some good features in JangoMail include: the ability to set a recurring sending schedule, encode your email and extract email addresses and other fields from your own database. The service will also track the emails that you have sent to a certain domain.
JangoMail doesn't import a web page that is hosted on a server, create an email campaign from a pre-made template, create web forms, test the email before you send it or send emails under an email alias.
JangoMail will import your billing and personal information into the program as soon as you sign up.
Building an emailing list isn't as quick as some of the other products we reviewed, but it isn't difficult. First, you'll have to name the group or list, then find your list and finally, add or import your contacts.
The service has a list of prominent tabs that span the top of the screen. Each tab represents a section of the program. Within the sections, there are forms to fill in versus graphical interfaces.
Something that makes the program more difficult to navigate is the "Send Email" tab comes before the "Groups and Email Addresses" tab. Yet you have to build a list before you can completely create an email.
Creating an email campaign is simple with the HTML editor. You can import your HTML document, make modifications to the code and add/remove links and images.
To create the email contact list, select the "add a group" button and then name your group and select the demographic fields that you want to include. Once this is done, you can find your group and either manually type in your contacts or import them.
We liked that JangoMail offers unlimited image hosting and supports Unicode and international languages, but we think incorporating a wizard would be beneficial.
The main report displays the clicks, forwards, replies, bounces, unsubscribed emails and more. JangoMail will also create a report of domain names so you can see what is happening for each email sent to a specific domain.
Individual reports are harder to find because they are labeled with letters. For example, the letter M represents the number of recipients and the letter V represents the number of recipients that viewed the email. We had to look at the key in order to interpret the data in each report.
When you sign into your account JangoMail immediately takes you to the help tab listing a comprehensive set of tutorials including a getting started guide, basic sending tutorials and advanced features tutorials. JangoMail also has email and phone support for that human touch. All our emails were answered within hours.
However, we would like to see JangoMail include an FAQ section or searchable knowledgebase, live chat for instant answers and additional reading material like articles and resources.
JangoMail is your run-of-the-mill email marketing service. Don’t let the lower ranking fool you. Perhaps it’s not the best we’ve seen but, it will serve most of your email marketing needs.
